This site provides information about the beautiful tourist holiday resort of Hisaronu which is situated on the west Mediterranean coast of Turkey. May I say firstly that this Hisaronu is in the province of Mugla and is near Fethiye and Olu Deniz. I mention this because there are a few more Hisaronu's around Turkey. Using the navigation menu on the left hand side you will find firstly a Google map of Hisaronu which you are able to move around and have a look at the area using the 'satelite' option. You will then find information about transport, places to visit and things to do etc. The information provided will be of help to people who are thinking of holidaying in Turkey for the first time, and also for those who are frequent visitors. The site also has a message board known as 'The Hisaronu Experience' which provides the ideal opportunity for you to meet a lot of people who have been going to Hisaronu for a number of years and also for you to talk to each other about Hisaronu and share information and experiences. All you have to do is register which is free, and then start looking through the pages for any information you may require, or leave a message for anyone to answer your enquiry. More about the Area
As you drive from Fethiye up the mountain to the charming village of Hisaronu, not only do you take in the beautiful scenery but on a hot summers day you can notice a welcoming difference in temperature as you climb.
The first area you pass through is Ovacik which has many hotels and apartments, shops and restaurants, then you come into Hisaronu village itself. The resort is popular with British visitors and the shops, restaurants and bars cater extensively for the needs of all age groups. There is plenty of accommodation in the village, from pensions to hotels, most of which have their own swimming pool, ideal for those who want a lazy relaxing holiday.
For those who want a more active holiday there is Olu Deniz, which has the most photographed beach in Turkey and is only a ten minute journey by the regular Dolmus service down the mountain, where you will be able to find a variety of watersports ie.- water ski-ing, para sailing, scuba diving, snorkelling, pedaloes etc.
For the braver of you there is paragliding from the top of Babadag mountain and landing on the beach. If you prefer a more relaxing day on the water there are a selection of boat trips available from both Olu Deniz and Fethiye.Olu Deniz beach sweeps round in a vast crescent of coarse sand and shingle to the Lagoon, which is a National Park area now and a small charge is levied for entry.
The cooler temperature in Hisaronu welcomes you back from a hard day at the beach and offers a well earned rest before your evenings entertainment. Hisaronu is a recently established resort and although it has grown in the last few years it still retains a friendly vibrant atmosphere. It is an ideal place for walkers as there are plenty of winding paths through the forests with wonderful views, and of course a visit to Kayakoy (the ghost village), where the Greeks once lived.
There are plenty of excursions on offer in the village where you will find plenty agencies for all your excursions ie: Ephesus,Pammukale,Dalyan and day trips to the Greek island of Rhodes. The night life in Hisaronu can be as lively or as quiet as you make it,you have plenty of choice. A must for shoppers is the market in Fethiye, where you will find the best bargains as it is the biggest Bazaar in the area.Fethiye itself is worth a visit to take in the history of the place, or to have a romantic walk round the harbour.I will suggest a visit to the fish/fruit market. It is an experience to buy the fish you like and have it prepared and served to you in one of the eateries in the market while watching everyday life go on around you.
Thank you for visiting us.
